Last weekend we welcomed two new additions (guinea pigs) to the Hickman clan. It took a few days for Audrey to come up with the names. She decided to ignore our suggestions of: Thelma and Louise, Cagney and Lacey, French and Saunders, Bubble and Squeak and Bret and Jemaine (of Flight of the Conchords) and instead opted to go with.......Dora and Boots.
The piggies seem to be quite happy with their new names and as long as Audrey keeps popping carrot and apple into their cage I think they'll be quite content.
Boots gets a cuddle
Dora in the straw

Never pick guinea pigs up by their tails.
Their eyes drop out.
I am afraid to say I have got through too many guinea pigs Trev, our first one froze to death, the second two died of flu, and another of a heart attack when my car backfired. we tried a rabbit but I am afraid it's teeth grew the wrong way and he bought it too.
Guinea Pigs are part of the development of trying to be a good parent, and you should be commended for your bravey, but as an old veteran I regret to inform you that it will end in tears.
I am currently trying to explain the pitfalls to Diane, as like you, she is blissfully naive to the fragility of these furry friends. I was told that if you pick them up from above they presume you are an eagle and at best shit themselves, at worst they die, ALWAYS APPROACH FROM THE SIDE NOT ABOVE!!!
Yours sincerely
